Stieg Larsson was a Swedish writer and journalist. He wrote The Millenium series before his death suddenly of a heart attack in November 2004 at the age of 50. Before his writing career he was well known for his stand against racism and right wing extremist movements which made him a target for threats from some of these Right wing organizations.
His trilogy of books has sold more than 12 million copies world wide, and he was the second bestselling author in the world for 2008. He won a number of awards for his trilogy, all after his death in 2004. Three movies are being made based on the series, with the first to premiere in the Nordic countries this year.
His trilogy is The girl with the Dragon tattoo, The girl who played with fire, and The girl who kicked a Hornets' nest. All of these titles are available for loan from the library. Place your reservation today in person, over the phone, or online.

Humorous mysteries - Tamar Myers

Tamar was sixteen, and suffering from severe culture shock, she attended her first American high school, never having used a telephone or vending machine or crossed the street at traffic lights. She wrote her first novel whilst still in college, but did not get published for another 23 years!
