Looking for true love?

There are lots of superstitions in this world and each country and culture have their own variations. Folklore in America, selected and edited by Tristram and Cohen, has a fascinating chapter on superstitions. It is suggested that if you were searching for true love you might try these halloween projects at midnight on October 31.

Throw a ball of yarn into a barn, old house or cellar, and wind, repeating the following lines, and the true love will appear, and wind with you.

I wind, I wind, my true love to find,
The color of his hair, the clothes he will wear,
The day he is married to me.

or

Cut up two alphabets, put them face down in water, then those that turn over at midnight on October 31 will be the initials of the one you will marry.

If you do happen to find your true love you might also want to consider the significance of wedding days:

Monday for health
Tuesday for wealth
Wednesday the best day of all
Thursday for loses
Friday for crosses
Saturday no day at all.

Oh and don't forget to take this all with a pinch of salt!
